The Terrace at Wisconsin’s Memorial Union is quite possibly my favorite place in Madison. The last time I was there it looked a little like this.
That was in February, here is what it looks like now…
Pretty dramatic difference. As you can see, the Lake is no longer frozen, and the boats are ready to sail. I could, and have sat here for hours. When winter left and the lake thawed out, I would study there, eat there, or just sit and enjoy the view. In February, I showed you the ice cream at the Union. Remember Orange Custard with Chocolate chips? It was 18 degrees the last time I ate this.
This time it was 85 degrees, and the ice cream melted much faster. But tasted just as good. I tried to order a different flavor, but the Orange Custard is so good, I can not try anything else. Ice cream is just one of my favorite parts of the Union. Later in the week I will show you my favorite food that they serve.

Wow, does this conjour up memories. I am now an East coaster with my husband and family, but grew up in the Badger state and spent 8 yrs in Madison(4 yr undergrad/4 yr. post grad.). The terrace still looks the same and the orange chip was there back when I was(I am embarrassed to say over 20 yrs. ago!!) What a fun place it was!
