After being in Charleston and Eastern, NC the last two weekend, it was nice to have a weekend in Charlotte. This doesn’t mean it wasn’t a weekend with out plenty of food though!
On Friday, I went to an awesome event put on by Yelp. I love using Yelp for research when I am traveling to a new town and need to know where the best places to eat are! The Yelpo de Mayo Party an evening full of drinks and great food from some great Charlotte places I had never tried before. During the evening I ate…
delicious chicken and vegetable enchiladas from Three Amigos…
A Pork Shank Crispy Carnita (Jalapeno Jelly, homemade ricotta crema, pickled red onions and cilantro oil) from Harvest Moon Grill…
a duck tamale from Roots…
Mexican Chocolate, Mojito, and Margarita mini cupcakes from The Cupcrazed Cakery.
Like the mustache? They had them and a photo booth so I couldn’t resist. I also had chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole from Moe’s. In addition to the great food, there were also great views of downtown Charlotte.
Thanks to Yelp! for hosting this awesome event!
On Saturday I went to the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ festival.I had a great time at this event last year! And was excited to go back again this year.
Beer and BBQ. Is there a better start to a Saturday? I hope everyone had a great weekend. Later this week I am going to share with you my tips for shooting food pictures inside restaurants!

So bummed all of these great events were going on the week that I’m the busiest! The food looks awesome!!
Thanks Vanessa!
I LOVED the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ fest last year and was bummed that it was on the same day as the Kentucky Derby this year. (Too many parties, too little time.)
Agreed, too many things to do this past weekend, I celebrated the Derby last year, but sadly not this year.
I think I could stand in front of that cupcake table and eat them all.
I’m going to have to move to the east coast just so I can go to these festivals with you and cook with Paula ?
Ha Ha not going to lie, I ate quite a few while standing there. Any good food festivals on your coast?
Gorgeous photos, Taylor! Great to see you, as always ?
Thanks Nicole! You did an awesome job with the event!
Wow. That all looks amazing. You are seriously making me consider a trip to Charlotte!
