What I used to be able to eat after swimming 12,000 yards Madison WI

Now that you have had your milkshake, and coffee cake it is time to move onto the signature dish at Mickies…. THE SCRAMBLER!

The majority of my Mickies experiences occurred after Saturday practice. 3 hours in the pool doing 10,000-12,000 yards really built up the appetite necessary for  a milkshake, coffee cake, and scrambler. As you can see the scrambler looks amazing! It is your choice of meat (bacon, ham or sausage), scrambled into eggs covered in cheese and gravy and put to rest on top of a bed of hash brown potatoes. Almost forgot, it is also served with toast. I usually have my gravy served on the side so I can pour it over the scrambler myself. I am not sure why, but there is something fun about personally drowning your meal in gravy.

There are numerous ways to attack the scrambler. What I usually do is eat the eggs, bacon, cheese, and gravy off the top. To tackle the potatoes below I bring out the ketchup. This meal is the perfect meal to guarantee a long Saturday afternoon nap. You might be wondering where the empty plate picture is ? I am not afraid to admit it. I could not conquer the scrambler, coffee cake, and milkshake in one sitting like I used to. I think the lack of 3 hour swim practice before hand might have had something to do with that. If you are ever in Madison,WI, you must make a trip to the Mickies Dairy Bar.

Edward - Was just exploring the website and thinking, that guy can eat. Then looked at about me section to see nc swimming and collegiate background. Having been swimming in raleigh for 7 years before swimming up in pittsburgh for college, its funny to realize just how much alot of swimmers care about food. Between the energy it takes to get through the practice and inability to actually consume anything for that duration, i’ve since known nothing like the feasts i would consume post some of my winter training sessions. Great job on the site, I will definitely keep reading for as long as you keep posting.
