The Hungry Sasquatch… Athens, GA

Upon looking at the menu of Transmetropolitan, I immediately knew what I was going to eat.

Under specialty pies, there was The Hungry Sasquatch. With a name like that I had to try it. What is the Sasquatch you ask ? Well it is pepperoni, Italian sausage, meatballs, ham, bacon, mushrooms, onions, black olives, green peppers, and  extra mozzarella cheese. You have the option of traditional or Sicilian crust. I had never had Sicilian before, so I decided to give that a try.

The Sicilian crust was much thicker than your normal crust. The bottom of the crust was crispy and crunchy while the center was light and soft. With 10 toppings sitting on top of this pizza there was definitely a need for a fork and knife. If you are a meat lover then I would definitely gives this pie a try.

I love Transmetropolitan! When I was at Supply School (US Navy Supply Corps) there in Athens I went there almost every week. Great food and great atmosphere. Miss the Terrapin beer on tap too.

I live in the Athens area and the Transmetropolitan is one of my favorite restaurants. I love their sliced turkey and artichoke panini with artichoke spread and their pesto stuffed portobello! It’s a restaurant that a large group of friends can easily and happily agree on, and that goes for their new location on Oglethorpe Avenue as well.
