I hope everyone had a great holiday. Somehow there are only 2 days left in this year. I am not sure how but 2010 has flown bye. I refuse to admit that as you get older time goes by even faster, but I am starting to see that it is true. Where were the days where a school year seemed like it would take forever to pass? Christmas night Charlotte got snow! It was only about 4 and a half inches, but for Charlotte that is a good amount. Prior to spending 4 winters in Wisconsin, I would have been excited about it, but sadly those winters have forever ruined my feeling on snow. I had no interest in the snow, but my mom’s dachshund Oscar was very curious.
After about 5 minutes of exploring, Oscar decided he had enough and was ready to come back in. I was surprised he lasted that long. I know this has nothing to do with food, but I thought I would share some snow pictures for those of you who didn’t receive any with the recent storm.
A few days ago my brothers, dad and I went to visit my dad’s parents on their farm. In May I did a post on spring time at the farm I also went back in July, but with tailgating and traveling I never got around to posting the pictures, well the year is almost over so here is a good chance to post them.
In July the farm looked much different.
Looking at these pictures makes me miss summer. Here is what the peach trees behind their house look like now.
And here is what they looked like in July.
Full with delicious peaches! I will say it again, I miss summer.
Anyway, I realize I have been MIA since the conclusion of the Tailgate Tour. I needed a break, and now the I have been working on writing the book/proposal. It is going out to publishers next week, so I should be around more after that! Enjoy your last few days of 2010 and good luck to your school in its bowl game! Next week I will be doing a post on my at home tailgating for The Rose Bowl! ON WISCONSIN! GO BIG TEN!
I just found your blog through Tastespotting and I’ve been drooling my way through some of your old posts. Everything looks soooo good (I’m actually browsing at work and all my colleagues keep looking over my shoulder going “What’s that? It looks amazing!”)
I’m in Australia but you’re making me wish I was in the States. You’ve given me some good ideas of where to go when I come over for my honeymoon.
