outdoor lunch on the best state street…

It is probably no surprise that every city has a State Street. Not all of them are like the State Street in Madison. It should also not surprise you that I think Madison has the best State Street of any where. Only buses are allowed down it and it is lined with awesome restaurants, shops, and bars. One of my favorite places along State Street is Hawk’s.

My favorite time of year to eat at Hawk’s is during the spring, summer, or fall (really anytime there is not snow on the ground and sub freezing temperatures). Why not winter? When it is winter, you can not sit in their amazing outdoor seating. It is a great place to relax, eat, and take part in Madison’s second best people watching spot (Best People watching is here).

Hawk’s has a wide range of food on its menu and a great bar. I love their specialty sandwiches. Choose between grilled chicken, sirloin steak, or tuna steak. You meet is marinated in your choice of Lemon Herb, Barbecue, Cajun, Teriyaki, or Jamaican Jerk sauces. I usually get the Jamaican Jerk served with curly fries.
