If there is ever a second civil war I believe that it will be started over BBQ. It is hard to find a food that people have such strong and passionate beliefs about.
I grew up in NC, so to me when you say BBQ I think pulled pork. Later in the year I will bring you other BBQ varieties, but today it is pulled pork. If you are looking for a good pulled pork sandwich then you will be hard pressed to find one better than the at Lexington BBQ in Lexington,NC.
Their sandwich comes from slow cooking a pork shoulder until the meat literally falls off the bone. Smoky, tender and juicy.
Finish with Lexington’s home made sauce and you have a meal that you would drive an hour and a half to get; well at least I did. The experience would not be complete without a large sweet tea and hush puppies on the side.

after living in Texas for 5 years, and traveling all over the country sampling local favorites throughout my short lifetime, i totally agree.
i myself would never choose – instead ask for a bite of each! I’m an equal opportunity eater.
