Today is March 14,2010. This is also known as Pi day.
Pi or π is a constant in math that is used to figure out areas, circumference, diameters etc… of circles. The number is 3.14159265…… going on to infinity. The first three numbers are 3.14. These numbers could also stand for March, 14 (March is the third month so written as 3/14 it looks like 3.14)
Instead of doing math, I think Pi day should be about pie! So today I am showing you an amazing fried sweet potato pie that I had last fall at the Lexington BBQ festival. Frying the pie created a nice crunchy shell to hold the amazing orange sweet potato filling inside. So happy Pi(e) day everyone!
What is your favorite kind of pie?

Dawn Hutchins - This caught my eye as I love all things sweet potato. Typically my favorite pie is apple but I am SURE I would love this one too!
Jessica - Hi, I just stumbled across your blog through foodgawker. Dudddde, you should totally hit up Tuscaloosa, AL as one of your college town tours! There’s so many great places to eat, like Archibald’s BBQ and Nick’s Filet House (aka Nick’s in the Sticks… they have this magicial concoction of a drink called the Nicodemus), and numerous other places. Anyway, just thought I’d stop by and gloat about this great little Southern town!
Taylor - Thanks for the suggestions Jessica, Tuscaloosa is definitely on my list of places to check out.
Taylor - Thanks Dawn, Sweet potato is amazing, I would definitely suggest trying it!
