There is a Varsity location in Athens, but being so close to Atlanta I had to make a visit to the original. The Varsity is the world’s largest drive in restaurant. It is located in downtown Atlanta, right across the street from Georgia Tech.

Last Resort Grill is favorite among UGA students and Athens residents. After visiting, I can see why.

It was not very difficult to find Weaver D’s. I just followed my nose and looked for a large lime green building.

The first stop on my trip to Athens was at 5 Star Day Cafe. There is a lot of pressure on the first stop. It is what will set the tone for the rest of the trip, and provide me with my first impression of the Athens food scene. WOW! 5 Star Day definitely delivered.

Do you remember the Elvis Doughnut at Ike and Jane? If bacon on a doughnut is a little too strange for you don’t worry. Ike and Jane has a wide assortment of baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. They also serve lunch as well!
