Have you been to Savannah, GA ?
If you have never been, then I highly suggest you make a visit. I was in Savannah to celebrate St Patrick’s Day (that is a post that you will NOT be seeing on the blog ha ha) and fell in love with the city. I had been once before, but that was almost a decade ago and I was not old enough to drink, so this trip was completely different from my last. Savannah’s River Street is lined with buildings that have been around for hundreds of years. In these buildings are a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. Upon walking past River Street Sweets Candy Store ,I had to stop in. River Street Sweets is famous for their wide variety of hand made sweets. What I was on a mission for were their hand made Pecan Pralines.
Upon walking through the door you immediately notice the large marble top table full of cooling pralines. I was handed a sample and then knew I would be walking out with a bag of my own. I can not think of the words I would use to describe the praline. Sweet caramel flavor with the right amount of saltiness from the pecan. If you are looking at the picture, they tasted just as good as they look! I love knowing where my food comes from and how it is made. The praline was amazing, but knowing that it was made earlier that day on the table I was standing next to brought another level of satisfaction to my enjoyment of this delicious treat. It was not made in some foreign factory , loaded with preservatives and then shipped to Savannah. No it was made in the same place I was standing. To me, there is just something comforting about that. If you are a fan of pralines or any other caramel treats then order some from River Street’s online store, or better yet definitely make a trip to Savannah!

Amy - Ahhh.. Savanah on St. Patrick’s Day… nothing like it… at least, so I’m told. I could never remember
Those pralines look awesome! I LOVE pralines and the last time I was in new orleans and had pralines I was kinda disappointed… I’ll have to try some next time I’m in Savannah.
