During my senior year of college, I lived in a house that was down the street from Geenbush Bakery. Little did I realize that every time I would walk to class I would also walk past Greenbush.

I quickly learned that the smell of doughnuts is very very hard to resist. Greenbush is known for its amazing Kosher baked goods. Every time I visit, I am intrigued and wonder if I could eat one of their large apple fritters. I have never tried, but maybe the next time I am in Madison I will give it a shot.

This might sound boring, but my favorite item at Greenbush is a simple glazed doughnut with sprinkles. Yes, I realize that I sound like I am 5 years old in saying this, but there is nothing wrong with simple food done really really well. The light and fluffy doughnut melds perfectly with the sweet sugary glaze. The badger theme is evident with the red and white sprinkles on top. I try and limit myself to only one, but that is not always the case.

heather - ahhh! another Madison favorite. freshman year my roommate and I would walk there on Sunday mornings. one time we got there a couple minutes before it closed and the lady behind the counter offered us a dozen doughnuts… for free! my particular favorite was always the maple-glazed doughnut — do they still have it?
cheers,
