I love fried oysters, but it’s pretty much the only way I’ve ever eaten them! I plan on trying some roasted oysters on the grill soon! That’s pretty much how I stumbled across this post. I was hoping to find something telling me the difference in the taste between roasted and fried.

Fried are better! I’m glad you enjoyed your time at the Oyster Festival…However, the next time you’re in Charleston let me know and I’ll take you to get actual good oysters. The festivals they come up with for tourists are not the true experience.

I’ve never had steamed or fried oysters, just raw. In general though, friend ANYTHING is better than steamed so I’m sure you’re right!

I like them better than fried clams!
You don’t dig oysters out of the sand.
No grit is bliss!

Oysters should never, ever be steamed! Fried or raw is the way to go!

Taylor! I LOVE OYSTERS and I’m so happy to hear theres an oyster festival! i’m sure fried oysters are delicious but can you really taste the oyster still!? I’m going to put my money on BBQ (steam)/Raw is going to be better! Nothing like prying your own oyster open!
