I used it in Brinner. I love Brinner (breakfast for dinner) . What is not to love about having breakfast food for dinner! Back in my swimming days, I could eat a ton after morning practice, but sadly those days are long gone. Now it is usually just a peanut butter sandwich or right onto lunch. But with Brinner, I can eat all my favorite breakfast foods at dinner time when I am hungry! What is not to love about that?
So after making the bacon bourbon, I made Adult Brinner. What is an Adult Brinner you ask? Well it is one where there is alcohol included. The breakfast portion of my dinner came with a grilled beer bread, bacon, and egg open faced sandwich.

For this sandwich, I cut a piece of beer bread and then covered both sides in bacon grease. Here is the Beer Bread Recipe

College Beer Bread
3 cups self rising Flour (has to be self rising)
1 12 oz can of beer (PBR, Coors, Miller, Bud, Natty light… etc)
1/3 cup sugar
1) Mix all dry ingredients
2) add beer and mix until a sticky dough forms
3) place in a greased bread loaf pan for 55 minutes at 375F
*Optional step- with 10 minutes of cooking left you can brush melted butter onto the bread
4) let cool and enjoy!

Once the bread was covered in bacon grease, place over a grill or in a pan until golden brown. Flip and cook until other side is golden brown. On top of the bread add bacon and then finished with an egg cooked over easy.
The next part of the meal included an arugula salad.

Boozy Bacon Apple
Makes 1 drink.
2 oz bacon bourbon
4 ounces pressed apple juice
2 ounces cream soda.
Place all ingredients in a shaker and shake thoroughly. Pour over a glass filled with ice. There are 2 oz of booze in here, you won’t really taste it, so be careful. Garnish with an apple slice.

There wasn’t much to this meal, but a lot of times less is more. What is your favorite item for Brinner?

marla - In our house breakfast for dinner is always a go. You got everything covered in your Brinner. That bacon sounds awesome with the runny eggs & beer bread.
DessertForTwo - Sooo, you’re tryin’ to tell me that I shouldn’t have alcohol for breakfast? I have to wait for dinner???
Maria - I love your brinners! Fantastic photos like always!
