This is where I could write a long drawn out third person biography, but I will spare you…
My name is Taylor Mathis. I love traveling, eating and taking pictures, so I decided to make a blog that contains all three. I am a photographer who recently moved back to Charlotte, NC, after spending 5 and half years in the Midwest and on the West coast.
I am:
- pretty sure none of my dishes match. I usually buy one at a time in all colors of the rainbow. Perfect for props, but makes it colorful when people come over to eat.
- not a fan of mushrooms, olives or mayonnaise.
- a huge sucker for dessert. Carrot cake is a vegetable right?
- in trouble if I spend too much time in the hardware store, grocery store, or Ikea. I always find too many things I want.
- a Wisconsin Alum and huge fan of the Badgers.
- 24 and slightly terrified about turning 25.
- still a swimmer ( I swam in college and all through my childhood), I took a break, but am back in the pool. Traveling and eating can be hazardous to the waistline, so I have to work out.
- pretty sure cupcakes are my favorite food item to shoot. Best part is eating them afterwards!
I believe that we can all be connected in one way or another through food. Everyone has to eat, right? I hope to share with you the food that I have grown up enjoying and bring you food that I find interesting. If you leave this blog hungry, then I have done my job.

Ok. Now, we have to be friends…..I can get lost in a hardware or grocery store or Ikea for hours too…before I get hungry, of course.

You’re my new favorite blogger, based on picture quality and the college town tour. Specifically Athens, though Savannah has its perks. I’m a UGA grad and was secretly thrilled to see your reviews on meals and restaurants I consider dear and familiar (hello – fries, feta and chocolate shake at 3AM is the best thing EVER). Love the blog! I just found it after following a photo link of a cupcake from foodgawker.com. I too LOVE cupcakes and I too am a Badger and Madison alumni. Your photographs are beautiful and I love the places you have been and your upcoming college tour. Very awesome.
