A farmers’ Market in PA and CA
Last Friday, I was in State College preparing for stop #4 on the Tailgating Tour at Penn State. Today I am in Dallas getting ready for tour stop #5 The Red River Rivalry. With this game taking place on the Texas State Fair grounds, my diet will be full of all the fried foods you can think of! Since I will be eating pretty poorly today, I thought I would bring you a healthier post.
In State College I noticed that they had a Farmers’ market going on, this reminded me of the Farmers’ market I saw when I was in Berkeley,CA.
I was in Berkeley at the beginning of August and it was the height of the summer produce season. Instead of telling you about all of the delicious fruits and vegetables I saw, it is just easier to show you.
Delicious. California has some pretty amazing produce. At the market I also was able to try the ice cream that my friend Hailey had been raving about.
Three Twins is all about making delicious ice cream while helping the environment at the dame time. They produce some pretty unique flavors. I decided to try something I had never had before.
Cardamom flavored ice cream. I had no idea what cardamom tasted like before choosing this ice cream, but I was surprised how much I liked it. Cardamom is traditionally used in Indian cooking and I would say it tastes like cinnamon, but very different at the same time. It is hard to explain what exactly it tastes like. I could name a few things it is close to, but it is really a taste all on its own.
On Monday I will bring you what I discover at the Texas State Fair and Wednesday I will bring you my finding from the TX vs OK game. Have a great weekend.
