a deconstructed gyro Austin, TX

When dining at Torchy’s I noticed another trailer that was called Man Bites Dog. With a name like that I was intrigued and had to investigate further.

Upon walking to the front of the trailer I looked at the menu. This was going to be a tough decision. With names like Buffalo Hottie ( beef frank with blue cheese, buffalo wing sauce, and green onions) or the Big Tex ( smoked sausage with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and diced onions) how does one decide?  Then I saw the dog entitled “My Big Fat Greek Dog”Decision made. Think of this dog as a deconstructed Gyro.

In front of you sits a Merguez lamb sausage topped with tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, diced onions, olives, cucumbers and crumbles of feta cheese. All of the elements of a traditional greek gyro but in a hot dog form. Simply genius.

The South Austin Trailer park and eatery is one of the coolest outdoor dining venues I have come across. There is plenty of outdoor seating and awesome food. Just bring some friends along and you could not ask for a better evening. I highly recommend making a trip when you are in Austin.

Memoria - I haven’t been to “Man Bites Dog”. I will have to visit; it is just down the street and around the corner from my house haha. I’m finally feeling quite lucky to live in this city thanks to you haha.
