a burger a beer and beer cheese soup Lincoln, NE
In continuing with the Western Road Trip, I am now bringing you what Brett and I ate for dinner in Lincoln. Earlier, I showed you the delicious ice cream we had at Ivanna cone, but before our ice cream we actually ate dinner.
For dinner, I listened to my friend Karen’s suggestion and we headed to Lazlo’s. Karen is a Lincoln native, so I knew show wouldn’t steer me wrong with her suggestion.
Empyrean Brewing Company is next to Lazlo’s and brews some pretty amazing beer. I had the Chaco Canyon Honey Gold. It was so good that I had to try the sampler to see what the rest were like.
After trying them all, I still think that the Chaco Canyon was the best. But why just drink the beer when I can eat it! How do you eat beer you ask? Well…
You make beer cheese soup! This soup was rich and creamy with a nice hint of the the Chaco Canyon. I am not sure what all they put in there soup, but what ever it was it had me finish the bowl. Keep in mind this was at the end of July, not the weather you want to be eating hot soup in. I did not care, it was that good.
For the main course both Brett and I both decided to get the Lazlo Burger. This burger consisted of Monterey Jack, honey mustard, lettuce, tomato and sliced red onion. After eating beer cheese soup and drinking quite a bit of beer I decided that I needed a vegetable as my side.
I went with the green beans. Brett had not had the two forms of beer so he went with the french fries (with ranch to dip in).
After a successful first day of eating in Iowa and 2 delicious meals in Lincoln, It was time to go to bed in preparation to drive to Fort Collins, CO home to Colorado State. Stay tuned to see what I ate at CSU.

blackberry beer, onion rings, and a great view - [...] enjoy visiting local breweries. During my travels I have had local brews in Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Carolina, and now Vermont! At these breweries, I always try to get a beer that I have never [...]
Kristine Cornman - Dear sir-I do believe that would be their creamy garlic dressing he was dipping his fries into-best EVER!
Lazlo’s is my personal favorite in Lincoln! Oh, and my choice of ale would be the Third Stone Brown and I really don’t like beer much!
Sarah - Ok, I have to chime in on the Lincoln post as well!
I lived here for a year….hand’s down Lazlo’s is the BEST! I still crave that creamy garlic dip. Yumm…
Taylor - I agree Lazlo’s was amazing, I am definitely going again next time I am in Lincoln!
