If there is ever a second civil war I believe that it will be started over BBQ. It is hard to find a food that people have such strong and passionate beliefs about.

Monthly Archives: January 2010 Recently, I talked about Magpies incredibly creative blue velvet minis they made in honor of Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday.  Yes you are looking at the Elvis Panini. What is the Elvis you ask? Well, it is a peanut butter, banana, and bacon panini. Yes I said bacon. If you have never tasted the magic of peanut butter and banana then you have to go get a banana and peanut butter and try them together….  On my old blog, www.taylormathisphotographyblog.com, I used to do a section called Food Friday. Every Friday I would post pictures of a place I visited or something I ate. Slowly, Food Friday transformed into what you are seeing now. I was looking through some old Food Friday posts and came across these mini doughnuts. They…  Do you have a food that you feel like you should like, but for some reason you do not? Pickles fall into this category for me. They are always served with sandwiches or on a burger, but for some reason I just don’t like them.  Whenever you include the name of of the food your restaurant serves in the title you are making a bold statement. Especially, when alliteration is used. Pancake Pantry makes this statement, and has the pancakes to back it up. I was in Nashville for the Imaging USA photography conference and met up with my friend…  This to date is the most interesting drink that I have ever had. In my opinion bacon is the most versatile ingredient in the culinary world. I can not think of one dish that adding bacon to will not make it better. You eat it with breakfast, on salads, dipped in chocolate, on sandwiches, you…  Upon walking into Cupcake, I discovered a combination I had never seen before! LEMON BLUEBERRY!  Amazing sushi in the smoky mountains? That was my initial reaction when my friend Carly suggested we visit Nama. I enjoy being proven wrong when it comes to my preconceived culinary notions, so I agreed. Carly and I were both pretty hungry and ordered shrimp and crab dip, and 3 rolls of sushi.  Breakfast is by far my favorite meal. On my road trip, I had the time to get a nice breakfast in Denver.  If adding bacon to any food makes it taste better, and adding chocolate makes things better as well, what happens when you add bacon and chocolate together? Is the taste to overwhelming to handle? I finally answered this question at the South Carolina State Fair. My conclusion is that, yes ! Bacon and Chocolate together…  Price’s is an institution in Charlotte and has hands down the best fried chicken that I have ever had. |
